24-HOUR MAJOR CRIME SUMMARY REPORT

NOTE: The following summaries are allegations of incidents that have been reported and are under investigation.

4th Precinct

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 18 at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Greyfriars, the 21-year-old male victim (pizza delivery driver) was delivering a pizza to the location when he was approached by two armed suspects who attempted to rob him. The victim tried to knock the weapon out of the suspects’ hand and fled, at which time he heard one shot and discovered that he was wounded.  The victim is listed in temporary serious condition.

ARRESTED: Suspect #1: Denzel Walker, Black Male, 20; Suspect #2: Devontae Barbin, Black Male, 20

5th Precinct

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 20 at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the Gratiot and Waltham area, the 25-year-old female victim was in the area buying marijuana. The victim pulled over to roll a marijuana cigarette and a suspect walked to the victim’s driver’s side window, pointing a shotgun and ordered her out of the vehicle. The suspect then drove away with her vehicle eastbound toward Gratiot. Taken were a white 2013 Dodge Journey Cross Over-type (Michigan plate # DBU9208), vehicle keys, and a bag of marijuana. No injuries.

WANTED: Suspect: “Jaylin,” Black Male, 23, medium complexion, beard; wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black/red Chicago Bulls skull cap; armed with sawed off shotgun

7th Precinct

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 17 at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the 7300 block of East Jefferson, the 35-year-old female victim (employee) stated three unknown suspects entered the local business and robbed her at gunpoint. Suspects left in a Gold older model Pontiac Bonneville (unknown license plate) going westbound on E. Jefferson from Sheridan. Taken was an undisclosed amount of U. S. currency. No injury.

WANTED: Suspect #1: Black male, thin build, wearing a half mask, red hoodie, all black clothing, armed. Suspect #2: Black male, teenager, wearing a half mask, all black clothing. Suspect #3: Black male, teenager, wearing a half mask, all black clothing.

9th Precinct

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 18 at approximately 3:20 a.m. in the 18000 block of Morang, the suspect entered the local gas station, displayed a handgun and took items from the location then fled northbound on Kelly from Morang in a Gray Buick Rendezvous, (license plate number DBD 6290). Taken was undetermined amount of chips and a cigar. No injuries.

ARRESTED: Suspect #1: Lamarian Travis, Black male, 19.

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 20 at approximately 10:48 p.m. in the 2200 block of East Lafayette, an unknown suspect knocked on the door of the location and rushed in with two other suspects. The suspects ordered four victims (22-year-old male; 39-year-old male; 29-year-old female; no description provided for fourth victim) to get down, robbed them of personal property, and assaulted a fifth victim (victim #5 was not present when police arrived). The suspects also robbed another victim (20-year-old male) who was outside of the home and witnessed the robbery in progress. Taken were two computer tablets, X-Box game system, two cell phones, and ID.  No injuries for the four victims. Condition of fifth victim is unknown.

WANTED: Suspect #1: Black male; about 5’ 6”-5’ 7”; wearing a black clothing; all wearing ski masks, black/blue gloves; armed. Suspect #2: Unknown, armed. Suspect #3: Unknown, wearing a black mask, all black clothing; armed.

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 20 at approximately 8:45 p.m. in the 7700 block of Gratiot, an unknown suspect went into the local business, walked up to the cash register, pulled out a hand gun and pointed it toward the cashier (24-year-old male victim), and demanded money. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction. Taken was an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. No injuries.

WANTED: Suspect: Black Male, 5’ 6”, 190 lbs., mustache; wearing black skull cap, green jacket, blue jeans; armed.

8th Precinct

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 20 at approximately 5:40 a.m. in the 21600 block of Grand River, two unknown armed suspects went into the local business, announced a hold-up, and robbed seven patrons (three 40-year-old females; a 34-year-old female; a 21-year-old female; a 15-year-old male and 51-year-old male). The suspects fled on foot eastbound on Grand River toward McNichols. Taken were four cell phones and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. No injuries.

WANTED: Suspect #1: Black male, 20, 5’ 7”, 140 lbs., medium complexion, mustache, tattoo on the left side of neck; wearing a black towel type mask, gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jean pants; armed.

Suspect #2: Black male, 20, 5’ 7”, 140 lbs., wearing black/red hooded sweatshirt, black towel type mask, blue jean pants; armed.

10th Precinct

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 17 at approximately 10:10 p.m. in the 2000 block of Ewald Circle, the 34-year-old male victim stated he pulled up into the rear of his girlfriend’s apartment complex and was carjacked at gunpoint by an unknown suspect. Taken was a white 1998 Chevy Caviler (no plate information). No injury.

WANTED: Suspect #1: Black male, 30, 6’2», 180 lbs., light complexion, armed.

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan.18 at approximately 10:15 a.m. in the 11600 block of Broadstreet, the 45-year-old female victim was discovered unresponsive next to the side of the house with trauma to the body. Victim expired.

WANTED: Suspect: Unknown suspect

11th Precinct

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 19 at approximately 5:50 a.m. on Helen and East Lantz streets, the 72-year-old male victim was walking to his daughter’s home, when he was approached by two armed unknown suspects who announced a hold-up. The victim and the suspects exchanged gun fire. The victim received a gunshot to the body. It is unknown whether the suspects were wounded. The victim is listed in stable condition.

WANTED: Suspects #1 and #2: Unknown

12th Precinct

CIRCUMSTANCES: On Jan. 18 at approximately 2:50 a.m. in the 14400 block of Livernois, suspects entered the local business, pointed weapons at the 50-year-old male victim (clerk) and demanded money from the cash register. Taken was an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. No injuries.

WANTED: Suspect #1: Black male, face covered with mask, 6’0», wearing all black clothing, armed. Suspect #2: White male, face covered with mask, 5’8», thin build, armed.
