Be careful who you share your dreams with
By Frankie Darcell
As much as we would like to believe that everyone around us has our best interest at heart or would be happy about the great things that are happening in our lives, the real truth is there are some who are not. We find ourselves at times perplexed at the people who we thought would cheer our successes and good news, but they choose to be negative and draining.
When you decide to work on your dream, start a business or marry a long-time love, be careful who you tell. When you are praying for a great and positive outcome, there are folks who will work against your best interest, attempt to hope for the worst or intervene in a way that your dream would become your nightmare.
You know the people I’m talking about; when you say you’re going back to school, they say “Why are you going to school at your age?” or when you say you’re going to quit smoking, they say, “You’ve been smoking this long, why stop now?” I think you get the message. If you are going to make a change, just do it. Make the change. By the time the change has come and they find out, you will be on your way to your greatness and change. And there will be nothing they can do about it.
