‘Cat Scratch Fever’
The Detroit Tigers are back in the Major League Baseball playoffs. Detroit won their first two games against the Oakland Athletics in the American League Divisional Series.
On Oct. 7, the Tigers played at 1p.m. and lost to the A’s 6-3. With a roster of stars including 2012 Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera, slugger Prince Fielder and 2011 American League MVP Justin Verlander, this year’s Tigers squad followed last year’s World Series appearance with their third consecutive American League Central Division championship.
As one of the most exciting teams in the league, their home field of Comerica Park drew over 3 million fans to the stadium this year. The Oct. 7 game brought fans from throughout Metro Detroit to the city for a day of food, fun and exciting baseball action.
The Tigers lost again Oct. 8, tying in the series 2-2. The winner of game 5, Oct. 10 in Oakland, will advance to the American League Championship.
