DIA honors Afrocentric sculptor

Meta Warrick Fuller is considered the first African American artist to focus on Afrocentric themes. A renowned sculptor, her work was featured at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. Fuller went on to study in Paris where she was influenced by Rodin and W. E. B. DuBois.
