Wayne County Clerk obtains Detroit birth and death records

On Dec. 10, Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett announced her office will take over issuing Detroit’s birth and death certificates in the new year. DIA honors Afrocentric sculptor

Meta Warrick Fuller is considered the first African American artist to focus on Afrocentric themes. A renowned sculptor, her work was featured at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition.
