Chrystal ‘The Outlaw’ Fortner, 1972-2012
Chrystal “The Outlaw” Fortner, born April 19, 1972, is an Internet broadcasting legend. She attended Hamtramck High and graduated from Detroit’s Osborne High School. In the ‘90s, she was a DJ for Detroit rapper Nikki Nik and had a hit song “Yo Baby Yo,” released on Ton Def Records. Chrystal had a long career of discovering artists, poets and authors in the Detroit area and abroad. She was one of the founders and co-owners of SVmixMedia and SVmxRadio.Com. Her warm sense of humor and inviting interview style earned her fans worldwide and will ensure that she is remembered for a long time to come.
On Oct. 22, 2012, Chrystal made her transition home at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. The family is asking for donations to help cover bereavement costs. A benefit is being planned by the family with performers such as Mike Bonner, One Single Rose, Supa Emcee, DJ Trumptight, Mr. Nizguy and more.
