We hate one another

We shake our heads and get on with our Detroit-area day as news that a 2-year-old Black child was targeted and shot in the head and killed, so that her father might suffer. Two more Black children are missing after their mother was found murdered. In Chicago, 14 are killed, more than 80 wounded in a bloody Windy City July 4 weekend.
If we have become immune to the madness that is life in Black America, we have signed on to ride the death train of self-hate.
Our death dealing behavior is clear. We hate one another.
I will not get on board that self-hate train to hell, nor should you. God is love.
Sociologists, fake azz liberal political analysts and ideologues can rage about racism and poverty, boring us with face time on MSNBC and talk radio with diatribes that take us to church on Wednesday with no weekend relief to the Saturday night carnage.
I stand strong against the democracy-destroying union-busting tactics of Koch disciples, but I am not delusional.
There is another poverty that plagues Black America other than deprivation of income. The original soul people suffer from soul poverty. Yes, as a collective, we have lost our souls and our way in this American journey to no-damn-where, save the graveyard and prison.
We must bear our own cross of responsibility for our behavior and not lean on the increasingly weak scapegoats of racism and poverty. Racism exists. Poverty exists. Both can be dealt with. The real issue is can Black America deal with itself?
Are we ready to address the reality of the statistically overwhelming number of dysfunctional Black families and engage in self-help, while fighting for schools that work, jobs for the employable and grow our own businesses?
When we hear a Gov. Rick Snyder of Michigan advocate for an immigration policy that would flood Detroit and Michigan with a highly skilled, highly educated class of immigrants, understand this is a discussion about the right-peopling of America from a governor who would be president if the Snyder political stars align.
Snyder doesn’t want us. Snyder doesn’t need us. Snyder has no plans for us other than to contain and control us.
All the “back to Africa” crowd wearing kente cloth made in China need not worry; if Snyder and others could have it their way, you would be on the reverse migrating slave ships to where you originated, if only those who conspired with slave traders would have you.
And they won’t in your present, no-value-added, undereducated, character-deficient self-hating violent state. The Boko Haram is enough for that party.
We need a self-help intervention if we are to derail the monster death train that is us.
We must never let haters cause us to lose hope or dislike ourselves and never let haters make you weak in your faith. Keep the faith. Stay on the battlefield.
