GM and Rodman rebound
By Sam Riddle
Special to the Michigan Citizen
A premature winter beat-down generates mind snacks galore. GM, Dennis Rodman, the damn #Lions, phew Pugh and even Ficano filter through. Aging in the cold is a blessing as long as we understand it is wise to empty the bladder before the movie starts. Pass the popcorn.
It is as if Robin Hood is with us through the multi-national General Motors that is garnering accolades as GM invests $1.3 billion in its plants including Flint, Mich., a city GM killed quite literally. I say Robin Hood because GM never repaid some $10 billion of your bailout zillions it received in federal welfare dollars. Of course Governor Nerd applauds GM’s corporate citizenship.
Wait a minute. How is it a good deal that GM gets away with not paying back $10 Billion of your dollars in U.S. bailout and you buy into that being a good deal? Try missing a few payments on a GM car and you will be waiting on buses that ain’t coming.
Sorry, I was watching football instead of listening to the politically-deceased Wayne County Exec Ficano and the mayor-elect of Gilbertville at the Detroit Mandela tribute. R.I.P. Nelson Mandela.
Not sure when you became so damn holy — running around in your tight jeans, mic in hand, camera rolling — demanding prosecution of Fox 2 alum Charles Pugh. What happened to your pissing in the street, biting people case, huh? There was never a case just a petty street hustle attempt to fleece Charles and now DPS (what is left of it). Still…Charles did the right thing by getting out of dodge and I don’t see letting him babysit teenage boys; just saying…
Former Detroit Pistons’ Bad Boy Dennis Rodman is back in North Korea during a time when that nation is trending Eastside. I know Dennis is aware Kim Jong-Un had his uncle executed, branding Unc a “traitor” and “human scum.” Uh, Dennis, your boy can be extreme; let him get that rebound if it comes down to one-on-one.
A Detroit Raw Tweet: The #Lions sucked the life out of us. #Detroit wanted 2 believe. Thank God There’s Santa Claus.
Democracy is still down for the count in Detroit. Union leadership is adrift in the court system. My mother died with over 30 years of UAW membership and was never confused about why she loved her union. The unions fought for workers. Direct action made the unions. No action will break the unions. And I speak of action outside of the courtroom. Lawyers did not build the union base. Conflict and confrontation with work stoppage to advance worker needs grew the union movement. When you can’t tell the difference between the attitudes of your union leadership and corporate management, you need another union or new union leadership. Yep.
We must never let haters cause us to lose hope or dislike ourselves and never let haters make you weak in your faith. Keep the faith. Stay on the battlefield.
