The incomparable Internationally renowned poet/ publisher/ activist/ rock star/ playwright and actor, jessica care moore, headlines Hartford’s Second Annual Poetry / Spoken Word Month Celebration – Sunday, April 21, 2013, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Ms. moore is the most recent recipient of The Alain Locke Award, founder of Black Women Rock, legendary five-time Showtime at the Apollo winner, featured on the album, “Nastradamus” by hip hop star, Nas, and a returning star on HBO’s Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam. The show will be hosted by Joel “Fluent” Greene, Hip-Hop Artist, former host of Café Mahogany, founder and current host of the “A Man Can Change” series at The Music Hall and Founder of the Hip Hop Theater – ILLPLAYBILL. Featured performers include Jeff Nelson, Lauren-Nicole and some exciting surprises. This is an energized, family-friendly celebration of words.
