The US Department of Transportation, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), and the Southwest Detroit Business Association (SDBA) will host an informational meeting for local contractors regarding the Bonding and Access to Capital Education Program (BACEP) from 3 – 5 p.m. on Tues., July 23 at the MDOT Operation and Service Center, 1060 W. Fort Street, Detroit. The BACEP goal is to help host-community contractors become part of the pipeline for MDOT projects and improve their chances to win bids. Detroit-based businesses are the focus of the program in anticipation of large infrastructure projects such as the Detroit Intermodal Freight Terminal, New International Trade Crossing, and major rehabilitation of Interstate 94. There is no cost to participate and advance registration is preferred.
