Morgan State University Choir comes to Detroit

Morgan State University ChoirThe world-renowned Morgan State University Choir will perform at Detroit’s Second Baptist Church on March 30. The historically Black university, located in Baltimore, was founded in 1867.

The Morgan State Choir, 130 voices strong, has performed gospel standards for audiences as far away as in Russia, South Africa, Colombia, China, Brazil, Jamaica, Italy. Bobby McFerrin conducted the MSUC with the St. Luke’s Orchestra at a 2008 recital in Carnegie Hall. They also recently performed at the White House for the Tribute to Nelson Mandela.

Their March 30 concert will begin at 4 p.m. The event is open to the public and admission is by donation at the door (suggested $20).
