Stacy Fox new deputy EM, major Duggan donor
The Roxbury Group’s Stacy Fox will serve as Kevyn Orr’s deputy emergency manager. Fox is a law school friend of Orr, as reported by the Detroit Free Press, and also a major contributor to the Mike Duggan Campaign.
In the primary fundraising cycle, Fox, of Northville, personally donated the maximum allowed by law to Duggan with a $3,400 contribution to the candidate’s committee.
Fox also held fundraisers for Duggan.
Fox will be in charge of city operations and also serve as chief of staff to Orr. She received her undergraduate and law degree from the University of Michigan. She will leave her position at Roxbury Group and the Foley and Lardner law firm to accept her new role with the city.
Fox is a corporate and restructuring attorney who has served on the executive Committee of the Downtown Detroit Partnership.
According to a press statement from EM spokesperson Bill Nowling, Fox will “head up transition efforts with the incoming mayoral administration following the election.”
Fox will be paid $175,000 a year with no health or retirement benefits.
Fox is replacing Shani Penn who will now serve as senior strategy advisor for Gov. Rick Snyder.
