Retirees/supporters share their objections to EM Orr’s plan
DETROIT – Detroiters Resisting Emergency Management (D-REM), Moratorium NOW!, retired city workers and other community members gathered April 1 at the Detroit Federal Courthouse in Detroit to file and voice objections to “the unelected” Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr’s Plan of Adjustment. Objections focus on devastating cuts on the already meager pensions of Detroit city retirees as well as Orr’s plan’s to privatize city services to produce private sector profits at the expense of Detroiters.
Hundreds of objections have already been filed and rally organizers want residents to be aware of one of the few means they have to voice their opposition to the work of the un-elected Emergency Manager Orr.
The deadline for filing objections has been extended to April 28.
