PSL East Highlight: Village Prep wins big over King

DETROIT — East English Village Prep’s Desmond King led his team to a 34-26 victory over the Martin Luther King Crusaders in the PSL East matchup.

King was hot all night, totaling 220 yards on 29 carries to lead Village Prep to its first football victory.

With less than a minute remaining in the game, King picked up a tipped pass from the Crusaders quarterback Davaun Williams and returned it 75 yards for the score. Village Prep is now 1-1 in the season.

Former Detroit Public Schools’ Finney and Crockett were combined under the new Education Achievement Authority to form East English Village Prep as of the 2012-13 school year. All but three players on the team are from Crockett.
